The NP Cougars traveled to the Deer Creek golf course to battle the Cadets from Cascade. This was the second meeting between the two programs this year. Though the Cougars may have finished on the losing side in each match, the outcomes have drawn closer. The NP golfers continue to show their grit and strive for improvement.
Back on April 25, the Cougars lost the match with Cascade 176 – 276. Last night, Cascade prevailed again but the score was 181 – 245. In a 3 week time frame, the Cougars were able to shave 31 strokes off their previous total. This event showed that the more opportunities you have to play a course the more you learn to manage the course and your game. Also, the players remembered the trouble areas and were able to work their way around it.
Peyton Myers 64 ( previous round 63 )
Marcus Burdine 60 ( precious round 70 )
Zane Mason 60 ( previous round 72 )
RJ Batchelor 61 ( previous round 71 )
As a coach, I look for improvement in every practice and every match, both as individuals and as a team. I can assure you that I have seen improved play, continued enthusiasm, and the results from hard work and player effort.
The Cougars face two opponents next week as they will travel next Tuesday to play North Vermillion at Rivercrest Golf Club in Covington. Then on Thursday, the 25th, the Cougars will host Fountain Central at Twin Bridges golf course. Make plans to come out and catch a match and enjoy a nice evening stroll in the sun!
